Maintaining OpenEdge and Progress

To maintain OpenEdge along with one or more versions of Progress on your system, you perform a typical installation (that is, a complete or custom installation as described in the Windows online help), noting these exceptions:

When you are prompted for a Destination Directory, make sure the directory you specify is not the same as for other installed versions. Type the pathname of a separate directory in which to install OpenEdge.
Redefine your PATH. For more information on modifying your directory paths, see the "Environment variables" section.
To run AdminServers for OpenEdge and Progress, you must set both -port and -adminport as described in the "Understanding and Using the AdminServer" section.
Note: To access previous version tools or utilities, you must use complete pathnames.
